July 2023

The congregation adopted the name Church of the Ascension, Auckland, reflecting its commitment to the risen and ascended Christ as Lord of His Church.

We are not a gathering of people who believe they have mastered the Christian life. Rather, we are people learning together to live under Christ’s grace and truth. We believe the risen and ascended Jesus continues to strengthen His people through His Word, His Spirit, and the fellowship of the church.

Our church brings together people from many backgrounds and traditions who share a commitment to historic Christian faith, biblical teaching, prayer, and Christian fellowship.

The name “Ascension” reflects our conviction that the risen Christ reigns over His Church and continues to guide His people through His Word and Spirit.

As a congregation, we seek to:

  • Worship Christ faithfully
  • Teach the Scriptures clearly
  • Build an intergenerational church community
  • Pass the Gospel on to future generations
  • Serve our wider community with compassion and truth

A Church Family Growing Together

Ascension brings together people from many different backgrounds and cultures, united by a shared commitment to Jesus Christ and the authority of Scripture.

Many in our congregation have found in Ascension a place of clarity, stability, and encouragement — a church where faith is taken seriously and where genuine friendships are formed through worship, prayer, and shared life together.
